First Snow of Winter 2015

So last night coming home from work it was absolutely pouring rain. Wipers couldn't even keep up with the down pour. I don't mind the rain, but, when it turns for showers to getting flaked on, well, let's just say other people's mind go off into wonderland. Yes, that's right follow the white rabbit down hole, because those oncoming headlights all the answers. The funny thing is, that the same stuff happened last year! It's like people go oblivious to the fact we live in a state that gets cold. Little science lesson. Attention, attention, when ran gets cold to a certain point, it's called freezing and if it freezes in the clouds and then falls.... It's called snowing. Wow! Thanks for the tip. Next year I will remember to reread this blog so I don't forget.
Oh well, we all know it's going to be the same next year, the year after, and so on.
Well lucky for us we also live in state if you don't like the weather, well it will probably change within the next 5-10 mins. I think they should televise the first real snow of winter around states that get snow. Really I do. what a reality T.V. show that would be. It would actually show how forgetful some are. Just a thought. Also I betcha people would stay off the sidewalks and out of the trees for a while as well. I'm glad it's here and hopefully we all can adapt quickly. So for the guy who's driving that 2015 ferrari that you bought at the end of fall, try to find some studded snow tires. Everyone will know it's you coming from the small fires on the side of the road. Awesome!
LOL.
Until Next time Love, peace, and remember when it starts to snow just stay home and leave the driving to the forgetful. See ya.

Count down to X-mas

Good evening bloggers! It is now November 2015 and the countdown to the most precious holiday is among us. Yeah, Yeah we have good old turkey day first, but, after that less than one month until Christmas. That's right Christmas! The year is almost over and Santa Claus is coming to town. The stores are already stocking up with decorations, sales, and such. But nobody is getting merry. Why you ask? Well let me tell ya.  It's because, to most of us or maybe a slight few, it still feels like fall has just begun and there is no way possible that it's almost X-mas time. To others they are in the holiday spirit early and by the time Christmas morning arrives, well maybe they're ready to burn down the tree, short out the Christmas lights, Put trip wires all over the roof, and barricade the chimney or just a simple bah hum bah would do. As for me I love Christmas.
But it seems to sneak up on ya before you know it. So maybe this year we can all prepare a little easier. I know, they can make an advent calendar for the countdown to Christmas. That would be great. Each day open a flap and instead of chocolate candy there would be a can of beer.
Sweet! Right or maybe not, oh well just a thought. So remember Christmas is coming at a rapid pace. So get ready. Until Next Time Love, peace, and Tis the Season to be Jolly... Fla la lah la lah la lah lah lah!!!

Spirit of Halloween

Happy Halloween!!! Bloggers, readers, and viewers. We just got in from trick or treating with the kids.
Let me say, first it was a great time. We live in a brand new neighborhood and the turnout was rather good.
To the people who haven't lost the spirit of Halloween, dating back to our own childhood, when we watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Beetle Juice and such. Thank you for making it a great night for all the kids.
To those who sit in their homes and leave the lights out in secret, hiding behind closed doors, well I just want you to watch a small clip from a movie that if you have seen then you will realize the importance of it. The movie is Big daddy and there is a scene where they go up to a house and long story short, kid walked away with some great stuff. So in the spirit of  Halloween, be ready next year. It is also a great way to build trust among our beautiful human race as well as new friendships and relations with thy neighbor.
As for now the door bells ringing, I think the Beatles are at my door, how exciting. So remember All we need is Love, dah dah dah dah dah, love, love, All we need is Love. Until next time Love, peace, and Happy Halloween to All. We are The Real Life Millers.
Good night

Great Scotts!!!!

For all of you who don't, or haven't ever watched Back to the Future, today marks a historical event!
Of course I grew up through all the 80's and the complete trilogy of Marty McFly, Dr. Brown, and that awesome time machine, the flying delorian. Can anyone recall from the second movie, which date in time they travel into the future? It's today Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015. I thought it was a great movie back then and to know that the director did his research. Just think if we even had half the cool stuff they showed in that movie. To think, if I remember didn't the Cubs win the World Series too. Wow, guess who is in the playoffs right now? The CUBS!!! If they win, they go to the World Series!
To think if we had that much power to actually predict the outcome or even come close to the future or the present.
Well if we are going off the movie facts, first things first. We have to make like 14 or 15 more sequels to Jaws. Then we need to get a major shoe company to create or come up with power laces. Next we can all have our finger prints attached to every important number we own, because that's how we would pay for things. After work, get in your car that flies at an average of 11,000 ft. To your final resting spot, home.
Going into your house it recognizes your eye retna's and all lights would come on. While your T.V. and other electronics run off voice command and dinner, well it would come in a small enough package that would even be considered a snack until you hydrate it and Whammmooo, dinner for 10 instantly. Oh well to think of all that sci-fi wrapped up into the world as we know it. Better reality sometimes I think, than what political views and troubles are occurring.
So in the mean time if some wild eye, white hair guy in a flying silver car, telling you it's a time machine and asks you to get in.... Well all I can say is... STRANGER DANGER... code word panda. Nah just joking, but, he might need help getting to the closest psyc. ward..
Until next time Love, peace, and remember We Are The Real Life Millers'! Good Night!

Halloween

Halloween, one of the best holidays we have. Great time for kids to be kids and the adults are too.
What better way to celebrate, than dress up as your favorite character or even a scary monster. Some of my best memories came from Halloween. I remember when I was about 10 years old, I had dressed up as one of my favorite characters from one of , I think so anyway,  the best movies of the 80's. I was Teen Wolf. Heck yeah! Even though I wasn't old enough to grow a beard or any other type of facial hair. My mother spent, what seemed hours, but it wasn't on my make up. In the End I was a hairy, slicked back portrait of the Full Moon turned Scott Howard. I was the coolest kid in school. Only thing is I didn't have a friend who called himself styles, just James. Close enough.
This year for Halloween I get to go as a hard working, blue collar, not enough sleep father of 3, weekends to short, not enough sleep and time in the day husband, friend, and oh yeahhhh, wouldn't trade it for anything in the world individual this year. Best Halloween Ever! I think My Wife is go as the female version too!
My oldest son is going as The Caped Crusader BATMAN and his younger Brother is going as his sidekick, The Boy Wonder, ROBIN! My daughter on the other hand who is a teenager and in high school, is going as a Cat. She got a pair of black ears. So I guess in the spirit of things, she is a knock off version of CAT WOMAN. Meoooowww!
So on that Note I bid you farewell.  Remember Love, Peace, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

Until next time, enjoy.

The Walking Dead addiction

So who has a Walking Dead addiction? I know my Wife and I do! So last Sunday marked the start of season 6. Waiting impatiently for it to start and while in the midst of the forever long day dream. Cramming every episode from the first 5 seasons in a one time all day event. I don't know what there is about watching zombies meeting there forever eternal sleep and end, but the satisfaction of the apocalyptic setting set in the present or near future is entertainment in its entirety. Every year goes by and a new season is once again upon us. What better way to spend your Sunday evening, than watching Rick Grimes and the gang battle bad guys, scavengers, and flesh eating zombies.
So ask yourself, if this was the end and everyone had the potential to turn into a nightmare, would or could you survive? Hmmmmmmmm, let us see. I think I would survive, but, there are some I think wouldn't. Oh well it hasn't happened yet or it might be all fictional. The lesson learned is always be prepared for anything the world might throw at you. So until next time, Love, peace, and if a zombie outbreak happens pick up your local survival guide and good luck or just stayed tune to The Real Life Millers and there might be a few tips.
Tips about what? Probably not survival, but, we could give it a try.

Its a Long Story....

So first of all I just want to say sorry, for not posting blogs. It has been one heck of  a ride. So where to begin, hmmmm, let us see. Yes that's right, it was a dark and stormy night! All seemed lost as we made our way through the door. People were shoulder to shoulder and all we could hear, was what sounded like screaming in the distance. I cleared my  throat as we stepped forward waiting in line. It was hot and humid inside as the endless line came to. More and more sounds of faint screams and in the distance flashes of light and flame. We tried to turn around, but, the crowd of people tripled in size and now we were being pushed as if we were cattle being herded into an endless light. I feared for my family and myself, as we drew near the front. I braced my children and grasped my wife's hand, as a strange individual dressed in blue came up to us, and as they reached out their hand all I could hear is, " Welcome to IHOP,  how many dinning tonight?"
Wow that was a close one, right! LOL.
Just kidding, but, in short it has been a quite bumpy ride. Just to speed things up. We were delayed in getting our home on time by almost 7 weeks. Wouldn't recommend that to anyone. We managed and I found out in that stint how strong my family is. I just wanna thank god for blessing me with such selfless people. Also as a family it made us strong. I now know that we can conquer anything. So, since we are now settled in our new home. We will be posting more blogs and we hope you enjoy them!
So until next time Love, Peace and God bless all armed service men and woman.

Star Wars Addict!!!

Thats what I'm talking about. Episode VII is coming out next December! Very excited. I think this only affects those who were born in the 70's. Since 1977 Star Wars has brought the kid out in most of us. I was very excited when they decided to bring out the first 3 episodes and tell the story of Anakin Skywalker and the birth of Darth Vader.
Now they are gonna take us deeper into the story of Luke and Leia. With the new sith lord coming into the picture it sets up a great collection of movies. I know come release date in the theatres, I will be standing line with my Obi One jedi robe on, wearing a Darth Vader helmet holding hands with Princess Leia and the kids dressed as Ewoks'. In the meanwhile speaking Wookie and giving props to Yoda for teaching the those young Jedi all the David Copperfield tricks.
Oh yeah you can't forget Han Solo cruising the Millennium Falcon while in cased in Carbonite, getting chased by Imperial fighters. Trying to make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.
Thats what I'm Talking about. So stay tuned and until next time love and peace to all. Happy Holidays.

1 year Anniversary- T-Day eve

Here we go, another year past and gone. It has been 1 year since The Real Life Millers' came to Google  and You Tube. I know we have not blogged as much as we wanted to, but, we have Vlogged.
So first off I wanna Thank those who follow us. We are excited for the next up coming year and wanna get more videos out as well as blogs.
So stay tuned and enjoy. We welcome you to be apart of our family.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving 2014 and it is shaping up to be a good one. Family is coming and I am.....
Busy, yeah that's it. Busy! That precious time of year when family comes together to feast on a wild game bird. Hmmmmmm, Now lets think about this...... what if back in the day of the very first thanks giving the indians brought something else to the pilgrim besides a turkey?

Just saying, what if? It could be something like happy horse day or even happy puppy day! Could you really imagine? The price of dinner would go up and left overs would go on for days. Or the kids would be really excited because the family would get a new pet every year. LOL. Just joking. But, what if???
It could have been as simple as the Indians' getting ready to come to dinner and they were looking around and were like all we got is turkey, bring it. Fresh out of dog  and can't spare a horse. Lol. oh well until next time god bless our troops and everyone. Later

Memorial Day

This weekend marks one of the most decorated holidays in the U.S. It is a day we recognize our fallen solider's. From the past, present and future. It is also a day we recognize our current enlisted individuals who sacrifice their lives to protect what we all believe in and that is freedom.
I have family that serves and have had family that has served in the passed. I am truly honored and blessed to have had family that has served for my rights I have today.
That is just a small definition of Memorial day. Now if your a redneck just like we all are. LOL. Then planning Memorial Day weekend is something that is on everyone's list. It is a 3 or 4 day weekend that embarks on the start of summer. Taking the family on a camping trip, just to sit in the rain. It always seems to rain all weekend of Memorial Day.
But if it doesn't, then your activities include camping, fishing, hiking, biking, exct. In the evening you sit around the camp fire telling stories while making smores with kids. Now me, I can't even roast a marshmallow. It always seems to fall off in the fire and it doesn't even say thank you for the treat. Then in the morning you wake up early to get the advantage at the lake. Taking along the kids soaked down in repellent, so they don't become a meal for insects. After snagging lines and tangled bobbers, you pack up the kids before the afternoon sits.
Arriving back at camp only to come up short at the lake because the fish weren't biting. For some reason the kids were scaring the rocks into the lake and the fish filled with mineral instead of the baited hook. Oh well, there is always next year. Then finishing up the weekend, arriving back home only to unpack what you want to blow off until tomorrow.
Everyone has their own true meaning of Memorial day and how they celebrate it. But as an american we all have the same meaning in our minds and hearts.
Until next time love, peace, and god bless our troops over seas. This holiday weekend is for them.

Mothers' Day

What is mother's day? It is a day of appreciation of the one woman in our lives that is there when you need someone to talk to and when you need someone to listen. The one person who took you to school and at the end of your stressful day, the one who was there to comfort you. The one who cleaned up all your mess when learning to eat, to catch you when learning to walk, and cuddle you when the boogey man was under your bed. The support that was given to you in everyday child hood and everyday as an adult.
It will never matter how old you get, because you will always need your mother and she will never stop being a mother. My mother was a hardworking individual who never let me and my brothers' down. Always sacrificing , giving, and caring for us. My mom at the age of 13 had my oldest brother, by 17 my second oldest brother, and by her 21st birthday, me. She raised us kids with a true passion and taught us what unconditional love is.
With out thought she would give her last buck, her last piece of food, and even her last set of clothes.
She is my hero and the one true person I have always looked up to. So thank you mom. Thank you for all you have done for me. Happy Mothers' Day.
Until Next time love, peace, and  God bless our troops, their mothers' and all mothers' around the world.

In Memory of Uncle Cash

Born in Kentucky I believe, my Uncle Larry was raised along with , my mother and 10 other siblings for a total of 12. My understanding is he was as stubborn as a mule, but in the same sense caring and giving. Growing up, my real father was really never around. I had my step dad and he was a good father to me, but the missing pieces always seemed to be filled by my Uncle Larry. Standing almost 6 foot tall with jet black hair and a mustache to go along with it. He was always supportive of me and always there to be a friend, foe, or just a good listener. My brother Jamie and I always called him "The Man in Black", after the great and late Johnny Cash. Hence forth the nick name Uncle Cash.
Always in a black cowboy hat ,  a black vest that cover his dove white shirt along with matching pants and boots to some up his total appearance.
He was my rock when I had troubles and my guide through life when called upon. My biggest fan when I was successful and my discipliner when in trouble. He made me realize that life is to short to always be mad and he would always tell me, " You could fall through an outhouse and come out smelling like roses." LOL. He would have celebrated a birthday on the 25th of April, but instead he lost a battle with an aggressive form of cancer in late 2010.
Everyday I miss him and wish for his council. But maybe God had other plans for him and giving that council and wisdom to those who need it more than I. So if your one of the lucky ones, when in doubt or in need of some humorous form of guidance. Well rest assure that conscience voice you hear in the back of your mind might be Uncle Cash.
I'm here to celebrate his birth and not grieve his death, because  he would have wanted us to remember him this way. I know it has almost been 4 years since his untimely departure, but it seems like it was only yesterday he was here, sitting at the kitchen counter drinking his coffee telling stories. I guess I will see him on the other side one day and we can catch up on all that is untold.
Until next time love, peace, and God bless our troops over seas.

Enough is enough

So as it goes in the day of the life of ..... Me! I work very hard at what I do and it seems there is always promises made that shatter before your very eyes. Like when I started my job in November of last year. I was promised a raise after 90 days. It is now day 180. Hmmmmm, there is one promise that is total Bull *&#@( bad word) lol. You get my drift. Then a foreman's position became available and the showed interest in giving me the position. They told what I needed to do and so I set forth on reaching these goals only to once again, get B.S. from the higher ups as they gave the job to someone with no experience and should have been fired for quitting in the middle of a couple jobs. In other words they did not want to pay.
That same foreman not knowing his job fully, let me and 4 other workers lose hours. So now I am backed into a corner. With only one thing on my mind, and that is taking care of my family, I had enough B.S. I could take. Enough is Enough, I thought. I went out and got another job where people appreciate me and my hard work. I have always been an individual that shows respect and gives 2 weeks notice. But these people have backed me and that includes my family, into a spot. So I expressed my first amendment rights. Oops, LOL. At first I felt guilty and then I thought, WHY?
I did everything I was supposed to do and work hard. So the guilt lasted a whole 3 seconds. Being a husband and parent sometimes you have to make decisions that are rash and some what life changing. But as long as I have the support of my family on the choices I make, well that only makes it easier.
Until next time love, peace, and god bless our troops over sea.

Pride

Have you ever heard the phrase, "A Sense of Pride?" It is a very rare term used lightly now a days.
It determines the outcome of anything you decide to do in life. With no Pride in what you do, everyday life will just be, well blah. I take a lot of Pride in what I do in life. From work to everyday living. For example, I'm proud to be a father and a good husband. My kids love me, my wife loves me and well I love me. LOL, sounds conceded doesn't it? Well I'm here to tell you it is not. You got to love yourself be for you can love anything else. That is where Pride comes in.
It shows what kind of individual you are and it is what gains the respect of others that look up to you.
It far and few in between now a days. Pride that is. You see it a lot in the work place. With people you work with only there to get a pay check. Or always saying that's not my job. But if you think outside the box, it is your job and if take some Pride in what you do, it will make that job even easier.
So take it from, takes some Pride in what you do for living and in your family you will be amazed at the outcome. Until next time love, peace, and god bless our troops over seas. I bet they take Pride in protecting our freedoms.

Our sons hearing loss

My son Aleczandyr has a mild hearing loss in both ears. His hearing will never get better but always has the potential to get worse. We are grateful that this was discovered early on because it gave us the opportunity to fit him with hearing aids. Having these hearing aids during the early developmental months will allow him to make those speech development milestones. It allows him to hear like other babies and he will make the same connections between sound and his brain just as if he had not had any hearing loss.
We first discovered his hearing loss at the hospital the day after he was born. They hooked up these electrodes all over his tiny little head. At this time when he failed, we thought it was due to leftover fluid in his ears from the C-section (which can sometimes happen). Our next assessment was done at home. A professional traveled to our home and hooked up those same electrodes and within 5 minutes or so he had failed again. At this point you would think I would be alarmed but I just assumed it was all a mistake because my little man could definitely hear me so it just wouldn't be possible that he could have anything wrong with him. About two weeks later He had his very first actual hearing test where they needed him to be sleeping. We were taken into a sound booth where they hooked him up to even more electrodes all over his head and we proceeded to try to get him to sleep. Eventually he passed out and they were able to get all the results they needed.

My son had hearing loss and would always need hearing assistance of some kind.
At this point we felt thrusted into this world of hearing aids, molds, therapy, and early intervention services. While I am very grateful for all the help we have received, honestly it was all a little confusing and over whelming.
We were able to get him set up with everything he needs for now, but everyday we are worried. We worry about his development, about how long his hearing aids will last (they are VERY expensive and most insurances will cover little to none of this expense) when should he get fitted for new molds(at his age they need to be replace every 6 weeks or sooner because they grow so quickly) He meets with some sort of intervention about every two weeks or so and we constantly have to monitor his development.
Even though it has been a little overwhelming so far I hold out hope things will get easier as we learn what works for him and for us. We hope and pray everyday that his hearing doesn't get worse but we feel confident that if it does, we are prepared and will do whatever is necessary for him and his over-all development.

Hockey All-Star Mason "The Face" Ray Miller

There is a day in your child's life when they are not just little anymore. My son Mason will be 3 on the 4th of April. He is growing fast, smart, and strong everyday. As a little baby, I would take him to Hockey games. Watching the USHL(United States Hockey League), Omaha Lancers. Only at 6 months behind the glass, he watched in awe. I have never ever seen this much concentration and want to in such a young little person. He would watch the whole game, not even missing a second. We had great seats. We were located at rink level behind the goal tender where you can put your hands on the glass and root on your favorite team.
When the players would get close or checked against the glass, Mason would beat his little fists against the glass and smile with excitement. The players on the ice would notice this and it was like they swarmed to him. Giving him the occasional fist bump against the glass. It was exciting as a Dad to see him appreciate the sport and start learning a certain passion, to even this day has not expired.
His interest in the sport is stronger than ever. When I would watch Hockey on T.V., he would be right there, helping Dad root on his favorite team.
With his passion fueled now, there was only one thing left to do. I found out from a lot of players the sooner I get him started, the sooner he would prosper into a great player. So I asked him if he wanted to play and he was all over that. So for his Birthday we got him some gear. To start what I know will be a great adventure for my son. Of course he will have to start at the bottom. Learning how to skate and stick handle.
I took him to the rink the other day. To see if he would like the ice. All geared up in his helmet and pads we hit the ice. At first he didn't know what to think. His feet slipping out from under him and not being able to balance himself. So I grabbed him up and away we went around the rink. he was loving it. He started gliding half way around the rink, on both feet firmly to the ice. He was a natural and he had found his true passion. I asked him later what did you like about skating. He replied," I like falling down and sliding Dad!" LOL. Only my kid.
So Stay tuned as Mason learns the way of Jedi Hockey player. Until then love, peace, and god bless our troops over seas.

Hard Working Individuals Never Come in 1st

Let me start by saying this. Is it me or is it people that have no common sense always get the breaks? I consider myself a hard working Individual, a good father, and a loving husband. I started my job in November of last year. I have over 18yrs experience and most important, I take a lot of pride in what I do for a living. It is a self invested trade. Anyway they have a couple of higher positions available. So curious, I thought you know what I deserve one of these positions. So I consulted with my boss.
He told me what needs to be done to accomplish my goals. As the weeks went on we have a certain individual I work with who messes up jobs left and right. No pride in his work ethic. It seemed each week a job was getting messed up and then either myself or another coworker would have to correct and complete his job.
To make it clear what I do for a living, I am a heavy equipment mechanic. So you can see the frustration. But after many jobs being messed up by this individual, you would think they would let him go, terminate his job exct. Instead they offer him a foreman's position. WOW!!!
So next time I rebuild a transmission, I think I will forget to put oil in it and let it burn up. Maybe they will make me shop manager. Maybe I will accidently run a Semi through the shop door. LOL.
CEO possibilities right there. Oh well. Until next time love, peace, and god bless our troops over seas.

Spring is Coming

As we head into the month of March in a week or so, I have noticed that days are getting longer and a lot warmer. It has been a so, so winter. With some nights getting below zero. As the nation watched on FEB. 2nd, the little fury ground hog approached out of his log built home, only to reveal that we were in doubt headed down the wintery path for another 6 weeks. Stupid ground hog, I mean really who came up with this. Were we really that superstitious to think a little fury animal held the key to an early spring or a long winter. I think next year on Feb. 2nd, we should barricade that ground hog into his home and just take our chances.
Believe it or not, the out come is always the same in the long run and we always pull through. Here is to a great spring and an end to a winter. Until next time peace, love, and god bless our troops over seas.

Run, Run, Run

It seems life is an exhausting measure of run, run, run. All last week was moving during the day working at night. You sometimes don't realize the hours put in, until you fall on your face. Sometimes you need to step back, relax, and take time for yourself. You know what I mean, sleep!
This is not being selfish in anyway. Just like a mom who takes care of the kids all day, and those who don't think that a stay at home is not a job needs to be slapped in the face. It is great for the kids that they at least have one parent home at all times I believe. So in the long run they don't turn in to little hellions, starting the house on fire, giving your dog a new haircut, or even experimenting with their sibling wondering really how fast the spin cycle on the washing machine goes. So all to those Moms and Dads out there giving it their all, keep it going, keep it up, and all your hard work will pay off.
Until next time love, peace, and god bless our troops over seas.
